Three suffer serious personal injury in head-on collision
A recent police chase in Pasadena led to a head-on crash, which injured four people. Three of those injured in the crash suffered serious personal injury. The pursuit began after the suspect was involved in a hit and run.
The car accident happened on the evening of April 10 on the Colorado Street Bridge. The 58-year-old male suspect was being pursued by police when his car, a Toyota Corolla, hit a Nissan Maxima. Four people were injured, including a child. The suspect was rendered unconscious in the crash and his injuries were considered to be traumatic. Two people in the Maxima were moderately injured. The child suffered only minor injuries. All four victims were hospitalized. The bridge was shut down for at least an hour after the accident.
The chain of events started earlier when the suspect hit a car near the 134 Freeway and kept on going. The victim in that crash chased after the suspect. The California Highway Patrol later stepped in when they received reports of a drunk driver swerving in and out of traffic. Speed was not believed to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if the suspect will face any criminal charges.
If someone is injured by a drunk driver in a car accident, the victim may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver responsible. The victim may claim in the lawsuit that the other driver was responsible for the victim’s injuries and may ask for compensation for their medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages.
